CALL: UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) 16th Call for Applications

UNESCO has announced the 16th call for applications for the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).

Application Deadline: May 21, 2025 (closes at noon Paris time)

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) is a fund established under Article 18 of the UNESCO 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The aim of the Fund is to support projects that develop sustainable cultural policies in developing countries that are parties to the 2005 Convention.

Through an open and competitive process, projects will be selected based on their ability to produce tangible and lasting results for the development of the creative sector in developing countries that are parties to the 2005 Convention.

The Fund invests in projects that lead to structural and sustainable changes in the cultural and creative sectors in developing countries through the development or implementation of policies and measures that promote the creation, production, distribution and access to a diversity of cultural expression.

This new call provides an opportunity for civil society organizations and public institutions in developing countries that are parties to the 2005 Convention to propose innovative initiatives to build thriving creative ecosystems in line with the MONDIACULT 2022 Declaration.

Since 2010, IFCD has invested USD 12.6 million through 164 projects in 76 developing countries to support the creative economy and strengthen inclusive and sustainable economic growth. These projects range from the development and implementation of cultural policies to capacity building for cultural professionals and entrepreneurs, from access to new markets to greater participation in cultural life.
